Advanced Wilderness & Remote First Aid

Advanced Wilderness & Remote First Aid

Comprehensive first aid and CPR techniques for those who need a higher level of training to work and respond to emergencies in isolated or wilderness settings. Training is also suitable for those who act as guides or supervisors for groups of people. The course covers material in Standard First Aid & CPR, plus advanced strategies for providing extended care for more than 24 hours. The majority of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.

Marine Advanced First Aid

Marine Advanced First Aid

This course provides a comprehensive First Aid & CPR curriculum with scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry for individuals who require certification training in First Aid & CPR. Typically a Transport Canada required course for many marine certifications.

Marine Basic First Aid

Marine Basic First Aid

A hands-on, comprehensive Red Cross first aid course on the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver, Squamish and surrounding areas in BC for those working in marine environments, through a combination of online and in-person delivery. Our Canadian Red Cross Marine Basic First Aid & CPR Level C Blended course is a fun and comprehensive first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course designed particularly for those who work in marine environments. This is a blended course, so combines self-paced, online instruction with a face-to-face, in-person skills session led by one of our fantastic instructors. The Marine Basic First Aid course skills are very similar to the Standard First Aid course - the main difference is that the scenarios used are taken from the marine/fishing industry. This course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E. We truly believe that first aid is a physical skill, and the majority of your in-person session will be spent doing hands-on first aid and participating in realistic first aid scenarios, developing confidence and muscle memory. At the end of this course, participants should feel sure of their skill and confident to act in an emergency. The online module must be completed before you come in for the in-person portion, and will take up to 8 hours to complete. You can start and stop as many times as you'd like while you work through it prior to your in class training. We're doing our best to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community, and so masks are mandatory for the duration of the course. Masks are available for purchase OR bring Your own pocket mask

Much of this class is taught in a non-urban setting and students must be prepared for outdoor wilderness conditions.
